Core Courses
There are two courses that are required for all participants in the Neuroscience Program (regardless of major). These courses provide a broad and solid introduction to the neurosciences.
- Psychology 91: Biological Bases of Behavior
- Biology 154/Psychology 135: Fundamentals of Neuroscience
Elective Courses
In addition to the two core courses listed above, all UNP participants must complete a number of course electives. It is highly recommended that one or two of these electives comprise independent research in a campus laboratory. Following is a list of course offerings that could serve as electives for the neuroscience program. Biology majors concentrating in neuroscience should note that the electives for your program are more discretely defined. Not all of the courses listed below are applicable. For a complete list of the course electives appropriate to Biology majors, please refer to this page.
Below is a list of the available elective courses for the current semester. If you wish to view an archive of all possible electives, as well as the offerings for past semesters, please go to this page. We have attempted to include all applicable courses on the list below but sometimes one sneaks past our radar. If there is a course that you think should be included on the list, contact one of the Program Co-Directors.
Elective Course Offerings for the Fall 2008 Semester

- BME101/BME 201
- LING133S/LING201S/LING268S
- LING199S/202S
